Centrum för lättläst är medlem i ett internationellt nätverk som heter Easy-to-Read Network. Nätverket har ett 80-tal medlemmar i 30 länder över hela världen. Det är öppet för alla som är professionellt intresserade och engagerade i lättläst-frågor, www.easytoread-network.org/

Den 11 juli hålls ett nätverksmöte i Linz, Österrike. Detta möte är en del av en tredagars konferens på Johannes Kepler Universitetet i Linz. Det är den 13e internationella konferensen om datorer som hjälper människor med särskilda behov. Något som förkortas till ICCHP 2012 på engelska, www.icchp.org/

Centrum för lättläst kommer att representeras av AnnMarie Lindman, som ska föreläsa om vår webbsida. Hon kommer att beskriva hur man kan använda olika format för att göra sajten mer tillgänglig för människor med olika behov. En del tycker om att läsa en skriven text, andra föredrar att lyssna till inläst text eller att titta på bilder eller på film.

Easy-to-Read Network kommer också att ha en intern konferens på sen eftermiddagstid. Deltagarna ska då diskutera hur man kan förbättra en aktiv kommunikation mellan medlemmarna i nätverket.

På grund av detta internationella möte har vi spelat in tre korta ljudfiler på engelska till vår hemsida. För ett par år sedan översattes tre vandringssägner från den lättlästa boken "Den öppna gylfen" av Per Gustavsson och nu kan ni lyssna till dem. Konferensdeltagarna kommer att få lyssna på dessa berättelser som en förmodligen välbehövlig andningspaus mellan allt teknikprat. Sedan är det förstås också ett exempel på hur man kan använda olika format på en hemsida.

Emellertid: Härmed utfärdas en liten varning - dessa moderna vandringssägner är ibland en aning oanständiga!

The Centre for Easy-to-Read is a member of an international network called the Easy-to-Read Network. The network has around 80 members in 30 countries all over the world. It is open to everyone who is professionally interested and engaged in easy-to-read matters, www.easytoread-network.org/

11 July there is a network meeting in Linz, Austria. This meeting is part of a three-day conference at the Johannes Kepler University of Linz. It is the 13th International Conference on Computers Helping People with Special Needs - ICCHP 2012, www.icchp.org/

The Centre for Easy-to-Read will be represented at the meeting 11 July by AnnMarie Lindman who will talk about our web-page. She will try to describe how one may use different formats to make the site more accessible to people with different needs. Some like to read a written text, some prefer to listen to audio files or to look at pictures or watch films.

The Easy-to-Read Network will also have an internal conference in late afternoon. The participants will then be discussing how to improve an active communication between the members of the Network.

Because of this international meeting we have recorded three short audio files in English for our web page. A couple of years ago three urban legends from the easy-to-read book "The open fly" by Per Gustavsson were translated into English and now you can listen to them. The conference audience will now get the possibility to listen to these stories as a probably much-needed breather from all the technology-talk. Also it is of course an example of how one can use different formats on a web page.

However - a little warning is hereby issued: these urban legends are sometimes slightly nasty!
